After the successful single ‘Nomad’, synthpop artist L’Asset now releases her second single of the year: “Even-Uneven”. A personal story in a light danceable track.

With ‘Even-Uneven’ L’Asset wants to give the listener a look inside her head and thereby draw attention to neurodiversity and resilience. She shows how she is constantly looking for balance, how she sometimes finds it and sometimes loses it, and how she tries to convert that into strength. As difficult as that is.

“Because everyone is different, everyone is equal. It may seem cliché, but it is a truism. Because it is precisely this diversity that connects us.”

With this track, L’Asset shows the contrast in her head between being completely sure one moment and being unsure the next moment. Between ups and downs, chaos vs. rest and everything in between. Something that is not always visible. With ‘Even-Uneven’, L’Asset shows that it exists and wants to help others.

“I now know that I am resilient and that I can get up again when things are not going well. That is why ‘Even-Uneven’ has become a powerful, but light-hearted single. I hope I can let the listeners know that they are not alone, that they can fully embrace and love themselves. I want to make neurodiversity more open to discussion because we are all worth it.”

L’Asset has managed to pour this heavy subject into a beautiful positive melody, which makes the single immediately appealing. ‘Even-Uneven’ is idiosyncratic, light-hearted and danceable. The single had been released by on July 9th.

Friday, February 26th, L’Asset released her first single ‘Nomad’ on our label. And it is the first single of her new album as well. The great reactions are promising great stuff for the future!

Five years ago, art / synth pop act L’Asset released her very first single “Ultraviolet”. After a silence of two years, she returned at the end of 2019 and in 2020 with a number of hits and finally in November with EP Bird’s-Eye. With this she could be heard on several Dutch radio stations. On Friday February 26, she released ‘Nomad’, a promising first single for her first full length album. In two days ‘Nomad’ got more than 1.2K streams on Spotify!

The story behind ‘Nomad’

L’Asset: “Nomad means ‘freedom’ to me. A freedom that we all long for at the moment. Because what is home? Where is home? For me it was a quest. I feel at home in Groesbeek / Nijmegen, where I was born and raised, am I at home in Rotterdam where L’Asset originated or is love in Haarlem my home?”.
 
Actually, L’Asset (Tessa Lamers) feels at home everywhere. She dedicated an Instagram Story to this, in which she used the term ‘Nomad’. This inspired her to convert this into a song: a powerful single with a beautiful message that hopefully will be heard all over the world.
 
A message to her audience
L’Asset hopes with ‘Nomad’ to give her audience a new home in her music: a place where you can be who you are, where you can speak the language that suits you best and where you may say what is on your mind. “For me, music and love are my home and with ‘Nomad’ I hope to inspire everyone to explore his/her own boundaries, to walk their own paths and to break through his/her cocoon, but at the same time embrace it. From now on Gentlemen Recordings and L’Asset are working together! We are delighted that the Dutch art/synthpop act signed a record contract with us. First single ‘Nomad’ will be released on February 26, followed by an album later this year!

L’Asset is a radiant, brisk, art-/synthpop act with a gorgeous triphop feel, fueled by the 28-year old Tessa Lamers, that explores undiscovered feelings through music. Personal, heartfelt and with a slight eccentric touch, L’Asset creates non-boxed music through her assets: the musicians, producers and the songs.
