Five years after their inception, THE CELTIC SOCIAL CLUB are still thriving upon their traditional heritage, but also widening their influences to the richness of other genres and cultures. THE CELTIC SOCIAL CLUB have been pursuing a fascinating journey in the modernization of traditional tunes from Brittany, Ireland, Scotland and Asturia, to make a few. On their third LP, the band, boosted by the arrival of new lead vocalist from Ireland, Dan Donnelly, have never sounded so tight and powerful, nor so relevant and fresh.

Recorded and produced in France, then mixed in the US by Manu Masko and New-Yorker Ariel Borujow (Black Eyed Peas, Cee Lo), these ten new tracks demonstrate the idiosyncratic synergy between tradition, songwriting and live energy. THE CELTIC SOCIAL CLUB  are forging a new way to bridge the gap between Celtic, rock and pop music with such compelling authority.

After previous shows in USA, China, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Algeria, new live dates are coming up in and the UK. Their third studio album is due for release on april and is set to exceed the already successful and critically acclaimed predecessors.

‘From Babylon to Avalon’ is bovendien geproduceerd door niemand minder dan Ariel Borujow, die eerder met onder andere Kanye West, Madonna, Black Eyed Peas en CeeLo Green werkte.

Vijf jaar na het ontstaan haalt The Celtic Social Club nog steeds inspiratie uit hun gebied van herkomst, al kijkt het voor de derde plaat ook naar nieuwe gebieden. Want gebieden als Bretagne, Ierland, Schotland, het Spaanse Asturië – en alles wat er te horen is – fascineren eindeloos.

Op hun derde album, geholpen door de komst van nieuwe zanger Dan Donnelly, klinkt de band strakker, krachtiger dan ooit, en blijft het relevant en fris. Op ‘From Babylon to Avalon’ hoor je natuurlijk traditionele Keltische invloeden, aangelengd met invloeden van nu. Het resultaat: Keltische muziek met één been in het verleden en het ander in de toekomst. Traditioneel, maar toch progressief. Conventioneel, maar toch een nieuwe live sensatie op podia door de hele wereld. The Celtic Social Club is een belangrijke schakel tussen muziek uit het verleden en dat van de toekomst.

Het derde studio-album verschijnt is klaar om alle succesvolle voorgaande platen te overtreffen. Na eerdere shows in de VS, China, Spanje, Zwisterland, Duitsland, Turkije, Tsjechië en Algarije, staan er nieuwe liveshows gepland in Groot-Brittannië.
